The 30-something MC seemed to grow up right before our ears on this track. On this song, Em flirts with retirement and says, "I'll walk away from it all, before I let it go any further". He regrettably talks about 50 unfairly inheriting his beefs and he 50's, but he's not remorseful and he's willing to ride it out, until the threat of violence becomes too great. He mentions both his beef with Source magazine owner Benzino and his protege 50 Cent's beef with Ja Rule and Murder Inc. In this song Em samples Martika's 1980's hit "Toy Soldiers" and laments over much of the drama he's endured in the industry over the past few years. One of the most compelling songs on this album is "Like Toy Soldiers". Dre and Eminem were behind the boards and provided almost all of the beats. There wasn't much growth on this album: beats, flows, and content are all reminiscent of Eminem songs past. The album has very serious moments, but its laced throughout with the fare that we've become accustomed to from Em-comic relief. The album is like a tale of two mindstates, which is fitting being that Eminem seems to have a number of personalities. Eminem's recently released full length LP is his fourth and arguably weakest album ever.
